Sedgemoor District Council

Meeting with Claire Pearce and Chris Sidaway of Sedgemoor Economic development unit to follow up on the Chambers launch event.

Purpose of the meeting 

To establish who at Sedgemoor Council we should be dealing with and to introduce the Chamber to them.

The Chambers agenda is to influence the economic development of Bridgwater and Sedgemoor Council , as the planning authority, are the principle people we to be in touch with.

Sedgemoor Council are tasked with some major policy development issues at present covering  the possible development of Hinkley Point, re-building all Bridgwater's secondary schools, re-development and re-siting of Sedgemoor Splash, re-development and re-building of Bridgwater Hospital and others.

Sedgemoor also have to draft a local development plan. The Council  are looking for views from businesses in the area on how they would like Bridgwater to develop. The Chamber can therefore play a key role in that process.

Outcome

We worked out a process of how we might work together with the Chamber feeding back views to Sedgemoor Council.
