Northgate Yard, Bridgwater, Sedgemoor District Council’s £16million leisure regeneration project, officially opened on Monday 24th October. Now, all the fencing has now been removed, the Brewery Field, new play area, 115 parking spaces and eight EV charging points are now open for everyone to enjoy.
Opening for the first film showings on 28 Oct at 1700 hrs, the new cinema complex operated by Scott Cinemas will have capacity for over 700 people with seven screens featuring a variety of cutting-edge cinema technology including Dolby Atmos sound, digital laser projection, wall to wall screens, reclining seats, a VIP auditorium, and lounge providing a comprehensive cinema experience. The cinema is fully wheelchair accessible and hosts the development’s Changing Places toilets.
The £16m complex, is the culmination of many years of planning for a central entertainment and dining hub for Bridgwater. Built and funded by Sedgemoor District Council, Northgate Yard has been conceived with the local community and local economy at its heart. The Council have worked closely with the community to create and deliver a vision reflecting what the people of Bridgwater want to see.
