Calling All Businesses is a new business focussed group founded by John Holden, a successful professional networker, entrepreneur and businessman from Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton.
Using his 11 years’ experience, John’s aim is to connect businesses, charities and communities for everyone’s benefit. His passion for bringing people together has recently resulted in the linking of over 40 local businesses, through Calling All Businesses, to exchange ideas and services from the very first meeting.
John Holden said, “as well as connecting businesses, charities and communities, each month Calling All Businesses supports a charity and last month we raised an impressive £300.00 for St. Margaret’s Hospice.”
This month, Calling All Businesses is supporting The Dementia Project to help raise awareness of dementia within the community and within local businesses where dementia may silently be affecting employees and their families.
“By raising awareness of this illness, we can help families deal with the everyday effects,” John added. “We have huge support within the community and more and more businesses are coming to Calling All Businesses meetings. Richard Holt and Claire Sweeting from The Dementia Project are attending the next meeting to talk more about how corporate donations can make a big difference.”
“We want to sign up businesses in the Taunton area,” said Claire Sweeting from The Dementia Project. “Making companies aware of dementia is extremely important,” she added.
At the meeting which took place at the CICCIC Creative Innovation Centre on the 26th of June, Calling All Businesses also had the Young Enterprise Somerset Finalist showcasing their project, plus food and drink for all attendees.
“The next meeting will be a summer BBQ,” said John Holden, “you can have the opportunity to hear from two amazing local key speakers sharing their insights into creating more business opportunities and gaining a passive income stream that pays you forever for doing something once.”
