Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is nationally recognised and meets the requirements outlined by the HSE. The course teaches real lifesaving skills that can be used in and out of the workplace. During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.
This course starts at 8.45am and finishes at 5pm.
Who’s It For?
This qualification is designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.
What’s Covered?
During this 1 days course, learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures and learn about first aid topics including:
- Responsibilities of the First Aider
- How to check for breathing
- Assessment of injuries
- Recovery position
- Resuscitation of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
- Choking
- Major bleeding and Shock management
- Minor injuries & burns
- Seizures
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
