First Aid at Work (FAW) 3-Day Course

Over 3 consecutive days, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more.
This course starts at 8.45am and finishes at 5pm on each day of the course.
Who’s it for?
This qualification is specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.
What is covered?
During this 3 days course, learners will be given the opportunity to practise essential basic life support procedures and learn about an extended range of first aid topics including:
- Adult resuscitation (CPR)
- Allergic reaction
- Asthma
- Bone, muscle and joint injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Chest pains
- Choking adult
- Communication and casualty care
- Eye injuries
- Fainting
- Head injuries
- Use of defibrillator
- Low blood sugar
- Managing an emergency
- Minor and severe bleeding
- Poisons and what to do if someone has been poisoned
- Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
- Seizures
- Shock
- Spinal injuries
- Stroke
- Unresponsive adult
