Come and join us with guest speaker Nell Barrington, Barrington Associates, to get free marketing tips and straightforward advice on how to get (more) income this year, stay safe and revitalise your business. Get the facts on who is (and is not) planning to holiday in Somerset this year and how to ensure they visit/book with you.

The session is designed for tourism and hospitality businesses e.g. pubs, restaurants, attractions, activity/experience providers, accommodation, tour guides etc but all are welcome.

Nell will be sharing ideas and opportunities for Somerset businesses and what everyone needs to know now.

  • How to open safely and why it’s vital that you promote this
  • Why aren’t visitors booking (or not enough)? We will look at the latest research on when visitors are planning to come to Somerset and what accommodation, attractions, facilities, services they will be using so you can tailor your marketing.
  • What are today’s tourism trends, and do you need to change to meet current demand/attract new customers
  • How you can easily improve your marketing to get more visitors e.g. what messages do you need to share with your visitors now to inspire loyalty; why raising your profile locally will attract a national audience.
  • Find out about why Somerset has such great potential to attract tourists this year and how you can use this to get more business.
  • How to join the exclusive Facebook group just for Somerset’s Tourism businesses and keep up to date with the latest news.

Nell’s big loves are travel and food which is why she has had such great fun, for the last quarter of a century, working with the hospitality industry. After studying Tourist Attraction Management and CIM Advanced Certificate she went to work in pubs, then as wedding planner for 200+ guests, assistant manager at 30 bed country house hotel, ran a bar, organised events and worked as tourism manager in South Somerset, where they say she “put South Somerset on the map”.

For the last 15 years she has been a marketing and business development advisor, specialising in the tourism and hospitality sector, helping them develop and get more business. See and to find out what her clients say.
