Farmers and those living in rural communities in Somerset are facing a period of significant uncertainty, in the short to medium term, with a potential negative impact on their mental health and well-being. In such times, efforts to address the underlying causes of anxiety and distress, and support mental health and well-being should be intensified. Farm workers in particular carry a significantly elevated risk of suicide compared to wider society. This course aims to help you become more confident to intervene when someone is showing signs of mental ill health.
New Leaf Life Design have secured some funds from the Somerset Community Foundation to deliver two Mental Health First Aid Courses to those working in Agriculture in Somerset. We have 32 free places each valued at £295 and you need to attend both eight hour days to become accredited as a Mental Health First Aider. One course to be held at The Bath and West Showground and the other to be held at The Old School Weston Zoyland, Bridgwater.
The dates are:
11th and 12th November, The Rural Enterprise Centre, Bath and West Showground
23rd and 24th November at The Old School Weston Zoyland, Bridgwater
