Stone + Partners
Architects

Stone + Partners Chartered Architects was founded by Harry Stone in Taunton in 1908 as Stone and Lloyd, and has operated since 1971 as Stone + Partners. The practice’s work will be well-known to anyone who has spent time in Somerset and the South West – including Bridgwater.
We can advise on all aspects of design and construction, including new build houses and extensions. We have extensive experience of re-using existing buildings and materials, designing them to sit harmoniously within the landscape.
Our philosophy is that healthy spaces are a result of good planning and placemaking. Building nature into the design of buildings can support overall health and human well-being. We think about how places are designed, bearing in mind that health is affected by places where people spend most of their time, including school, work and in the activities of daily living.
Sustainability is of fundamental importance in our work and goes hand in hand with our commitment to resilience utilizing off-site construction, and energy efficiency measures.
Good buildings result from people working well together, sharing a commitment to a common goal, and personal relationships remain fundamental to who we are as Stone + Partners.
‘Stone + Partners have steered the project (and us!) very professionally, from start, to the very end, and I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done. If anyone asks me for a recommendation of a local architect / project management team, I’ll certainly be recommending you’.
